The landscape
The landscape in Feng shui is very important, but its not essential, so skip to the "fengshui and you" part of the site if your short on time and are here for life enhancement. It shouldnt take long to read though folks. Anyway, back to the subject, the landscape, obvious really, this section is all about the earth and how it effects us. Reading this will give you an insight into how it effects you, which will put you in good stead for the "fengshui and you" part of the site, which will tell you how to change the effects to benefit you.
Below, like always, i will give a short introduction to each principle. Click on the link to read the subject more in depth. (note- the following passage is just a short introduction, the real juicy bits are in the links)
Earth, heaven and weather chi
starts us off on this section, chi acts on every level, the environment channels the chi in different ways to give different resulting effects on the inhabitants, this is earth chi. Weather and heaven chi are self explanatory, the links give a more in depth view though.
Rivers
contain and carry chi and are perhaps the easiest way to see the flow of chi.
Mountains
are the giants of the land and so they effect the flow of chi conciderably.
I`m sure you`ve heard of the
white tiger and green dragon
before, two major symbols in chinese belief, they are symbols of negative and positive chi, and how they react. The correct balance is the key.
Finally we come to the
urban landscape
, this probably applies alot more to you. The urban environment has attributes that are the same as the rural, for example, roads are like rivers and buildings are like mountains- simple really. :)
